Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October may seem far away but it will be here before we know it.  We will be using our "I'm a survivor, I'm your..." theme again this year.  We are thrilled to once again have the sponsorship of Van Meter Industrial, Inc.  Without their generosity our awareness efforts would not be possible.

Public Awareness Blitz!

Keep your eyes open for posters, information cards, bus banners, lamp post banners and movie screen advertising!  Posters are also available as a download on the right side of this page or if you would like a full-size version to hang in your place of business we would be happy to provide one.  Simply e-mail sarabetha@icadv.org

Faces of the Iowa Voices Project

Last year ICADV launched the Iowa Voices Project.  Through this project we shared the stories of 31 survivors of domestic violence including their real names and portraits, with the help of photographer and author Kate Iola.  The stories appeared in newspapers and on websites across the state reaching more than 600,000 readers.

This year we are moving on to a new phase of the project focusing on the amazing portraits of these 31 survivors.  The exhibit will visit nine Iowa cities and towns throughout the month of October.  Visit the Iowa Voices Project page for more information on this exciting project and for updates on the exhibit.

You can also visit http://www.agoutlook.com/dv/dv.htm for examples of Kate Iola's photography or http://www.kateiola.com/default.asp for more about Kate and her writing.
