Iowa Domestic Abuse Advocate
                 Certification Program


The purpose of the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence Advocate Certification Process is to:


• Provide a method to assure clients, the community, and other members of the domestic violence profession, that domestic abuse project paid and unpaid staff have successfully completed training and supervised work experience necessary to provide nonjudgmental,
empowering intervention for victims of domestic abuse and their children.
• Provide a mechanism to recognize the competency of skilled domestic abuse advocates, acquired through a combination of work and life experience, training, and traditional academic preparation.
• Assure continued professional growth.
• Increase community and professional awareness that the field of domestic violence is a specialty area.
• Assure that Certified Domestic Abuse Advocates adhere to the Certified Domestic Abuse Advocate Code of Ethics.

 

 

Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence Training Policy

Effective January 1, 2010

Registration is available through the training calendar located under the membership tab, TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES. 

All on site trainings are $15.00 unless otherwise noted in the registration process.  Webinar's are free.

Please register at least 48 hours in advance so we may account for all attendees when ordering meals. If you attend training without registering, you will be able to attend only if there is available room. You will be required to pay for the meeting at that time.

Cancellation must be made a full 24 hours prior to the start time of the training. If it is made less than 24 hours before the event, you will be charged in full for the event. Please be aware that in order to maintain consistency this policy will be strictly adhered to.

If less than ten people are registered for any training the training may be canceled.
